پیشگفتار 
در دهه های گذشته ، پیشرفت فناوری میکروالکترونیک و VLSI باعث گسترش استفاده همگانی از تجهیزات مخابراتی و محاسباتی در کاربردهای تجاری شده است. موفقیت محصولاتی از جمله کامپیوترهای شخصی و کیفی ، تلفن های بی سیم و سلولی ( سیار ) ، و تجهیزات جانبی آنها همواره کار دست و پاگیری بوده است که عمدتا با اتکا به کابلهای رابط خاص انجام می شده است. 
اخیرا یک واسط رادیویی ( بی سیم ) همگانی برای ایجاد ارتباط بی سیم برد کوتاه طراحی شده است . این فناوری که Bluetooth نامیده شده است ، نیاز به استفاده از سیم و کابل و ارتباط دهنده های لازم برای برقراری ارتباط بین تلفن های بی سیم یا سلولی ، مودم ها ، کامپیوترها ، چاپگرها و ... فناوری ما را قادر به طراحی سیستمهای رادیویی کم توان ، کوچک و ارزان می کند و با توجه به این مزایا ، این سیستم ها را می توان به راحتی در تجهیزات قابل حمل موجود کار گذاشت . بدین ترتیب سیستم های رادایویی تعبیه شده باعث ایجاد ارتباطی همگانی و فراگیر می شود که این فناوری امکان تحقق ارتباط فوق را بدون هیچ گونه دخالت آشکار کاربر فراهم می کند. 
مشخصه کلیدی آن پایداری ، پیچیدگی کم ، توان کم و هزینه کم است. با این که این تکنولوژی برای کار در محیط نویزی فرکانسی طراحی شده است. و از تاییدهای سریع و مدل پرش فرکانسی بهره می برد تا ارتباط را پایداری بخشد . عناصر بلوتوس در باند بی جواز 2.4GHz کار می کند و با کمک پرش فرکانسی پس از مبادله بسته ها از تداخل جلوگیری می کند. در قیاس با باقی سیستم های مشابه در چنین فرکانسی ، بلوتوس سریعتر پرش می کند و از بسته های کوچکتر بهره می برد .
